February......A Month Full Of Love!

I absolutely love February and love to celebrate love in every way, shape, and form.  Of course, I am all about the love of food.  The buying, the cooking, and the eating.  February to me is when my winter cooking really kicks into gear.  I am roasting chickens, making sauce, eating pasta, chocolate, and more. Every week it's a new soup, a new wine, a new spice to delight my senses.  I've gotten into making bread, something new for me.  Who knew that it could be so simple and wonderfully rewarding.  I seek comfort in front of the fire or wrapped up in a blanket on the couch with a big bowl of rice and steamed dumplings.  I read books, watch cooking shows, movies and, as of late, shovel a whole lot of snow!  Yes, I gain a couple of pounds, but I don't worry too much, it all balances out come spring.  What a gift, a true show of love for ourselves if we allow February to engulf us in her magic.  Can we open ourselves to the joy and contentment of cooking, eating, and just being. When it comes to Valentine's Day, embrace it and make yourself a fabulous chocolate souffle!  Peace!

    Hi Karen,
    I agree about winter cooking – I love any excuse to turn on my ancient gas six-burner stove top Viking oven. It’s the heart of my kitchen, and I bake things in it that take a long time (like Indian pudding or pot roast) any chance I get!
    You inspired me so much when we spoke in your store the other day, and I want to thank you for that! I’ve got new resolve to finish my gluten-free recipe collection, in a new way. I was also interested to see that the gluten free cookbook you offer is sold out!
