Love at first bite.....blueberry jam, ham, and smoked mozzarella!

The height of summer, hazy, hot, and humid and not a lot cooking in my kitchen.  I know that for myself, the thought of cooking after work sometimes gets a little overwhelming so I usually opt for the easy way out when the weather gets tough.  What could be easier and more delicious than a grilled ham and cheese, nothing in my book.  Inspired by a few remaining bits and pieces in the refrigerator and some leftover bread, dinner was put together in a flash. And delectable it was.  I love using jams on grilled cheese.  I have used sweet ones and savory ones, both equally amazing! They add that something special to an otherwise simple sandwich.  Trying different cheeses is a fun way to go too.  I love using the smoked mozzarella, but I also love fontina, gorgonzola, and gruyere! Brie is another cheese to try. There are so many different types of ham too, from honey ham, to smoked ham, to prosciutto and beyond.  And the bread, I could go on and on about the choices, but to me, anything goes when making a grilled ham and cheese.

Blueberry Jam, Ham, And Smoked Mozzarella

1.  Spread both pieces of bread with a layer of blueberry jam.

2.  Build your sandwich with a layer or two of ham, followed by the cheese.

3.  Butter the outside of both sides of your sandwich before grilling.

4.  Grill until both sides are golden brown and the cheese is perfectly melted!

5.  Enjoy!
